Welcome to Sunbury Coffee Company at sunburycoffee.com!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Yemeni - Mocha Haimi We are almost out of Mocha Haimi and there is no more. With the political unrest there I doubt that I’ll be able to get any more. If you like this coffee (I love it) or you want to try it get it now. If you’d like to compare it in both a medium and a medium-dark roast the Mocha Espresso is the same coffee roasted darker.
For those who are not familiar with it this is that I originally wrote about this coffee:
"WOW!" That is what I scribbled in my cupping journal when I tried this coffee. This is a small farm coffee, from a small producing country that is out of this world. It also makes the best single origin espresso I've ever tasted. I've been trying to improve it by blending for the last 2 months and I've given up, I can't improve it. Since this is the introduction of this coffee I'm going to say some more here.
Most people in the coffee business today believe that coffee originated in Ethiopia where it grows wild; however, Yemen is probably where it was first cultivated. Mocha, you've all heard the term, you may not know this but it has nothing to do with chocolate, no matter what the national chains have led you to believe. Mocha is a European distortion of the Arabic al-Mukhā the port in Yemen where the beans were exported, thus Mocha Beans. This coffee bears some similarities to Ethiopians in that it has a very small bean size and the flavors are complex with notes of chocolate, fruit, I even get a hint of clove. This is magic stuff. Something else you will notice, not many other coffee roasters (or green bean providers for that matter) have any in stock, and it's pricey, and the bad news, even before the political unrest in Yemen in the last month I was hearing that there may be less next year.
Our coffee is available in five pound bags. It is a bit more cost effective to buy it that way; however, if you're not a high volume user I would suggest you buy a sealable container for your coffee. It will not stay as fresh once the bag is opened. For the 4 or 5 bags-a-month user the sealed bags will keep fresher. Please note that the 5lb bags will ship on the Monday after it is ordered. We roast about once a week, when we roast everything goes into 12oz bags unless we have orders for 5 lb bags. We don't typically keep 5lb bags on the shelf.
FREE SHIPPING!
Sunbury Coffee Company is now offering free shipping on all coffee orders over $30. Just enter the coupon code FS2012 when you check out.
This offer cannot be combined with other coupons. Shipping is by FedEx ground (5-7 day delivery) or priority mail, our choice whichever is lesser cost.
A note on our free shipping offer. If you use the free shipping option I will use the cheapest shipping option. That means if you live west of about AR or north of PA it will come parcel post, 5-7 days. Inside that radius Priority is sometimes actually cheaper than Parcel.
